    Kerala  -  Hill Stations

Beaches  t  Backwaters  t  Major Cities

Much of the Kerala's exotic appeal is centered in the highland area of the Western Ghats. Rising to an average height of 1520m, the tropical forests of the Ghats house rich flora and fauna.. Not to speak of expansive, loamy plantations of tea, coffee, rubber and fragrant cardamom.

Munnar

1600m above sea level Munnar ranks among the most beautiful hill stations in South Asia. Majestic mountains, lush green forests, wildlife sanctuaries, pristine mountain streams, aromatic tea gardens blend harmoniously in Munnar to make a blissful atmosphere that is hard to describe.

Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji. This flower which bathes the hills in blue once every twelve years, will bloom next in 2006AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India-Anamudi, which towers over 2695m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.

Munnar is a nature lover's paradise and was the summer resort of the British Government in South India. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.

This is home to the near extinct Nilgiri Thars, the mountain goats, in the Eravikulam National Park. It can also be spotted on the hillsides of Rajamala. Mattupetti Dam, Echo Point, Top Station and Sandalwood forest at Marayoor are just some of the fascinating places around Munnar.  Munnar Holiday Packages
